Content marketing
Content marketing in Ann Arbor
Before people contact a business, they look for answers. Content marketing makes sure the best answers come from you: useful articles, guides, landing pages and emails that help customers decide, and show search engines what you know.

Content with a job to do
Plenty of businesses publish blog posts because someone told them they should. Few of those posts get read, because they were written to fill a calendar rather than to help a customer. We start the other way round: with the questions your customers ask before they buy, and the content that would answer them best.
That might be a detailed guide, a comparison page, a set of case studies, a plain explanation of how pricing works or a regular newsletter. Each piece is given a job, such as attracting search traffic, supporting a sales conversation or keeping you in mind between purchases, and we measure it against that job.
Written for people first. Google says its automated ranking systems are designed to prioritize helpful, reliable information created to benefit people, not content made to manipulate search rankings. That is how we write anyway: if a piece would not help a customer, it is not worth publishing.
Your expertise is the raw material. We interview you and your team, turn what you know into clear writing in your voice, and check the facts with you before anything goes live. You stay the authority; we do the planning, writing and editing.
Good content also lasts longer than most marketing. One well-researched guide can become a run of social posts, a newsletter, a short video script and a handout for your sales team, so every hour of research works several times over.
What's included
From strategy to the published page
Some businesses want an ongoing program; others need a specific set of pages written well. Both start with a plan.
- Content strategy: customer questions, search research and business goals turned into a prioritized list of topics.
- Articles and guides: in-depth pieces that answer real questions clearly, with sources wherever facts are involved.
- Landing and service pages: pages written for a specific search or campaign, each leading to one clear next step.
- Case-study framework: a simple structure and interview questions for turning customer projects into credible stories, with their permission.
- Email newsletters: useful, regular emails to people who asked to hear from you, planned alongside your other content.
- Editorial calendar: what gets written, by whom and when, tied to your seasons, launches and sales priorities.
- Repurposing: each substantial piece adapted into social posts, emails and sales material, so research is never used only once.
- Measurement: search visibility, engaged reading, sign-ups and the inquiries each piece helps to start.
How it works
How we plan and produce content
A steady rhythm beats bursts of activity. This is the cycle we repeat.
Research
We gather the questions customers ask you, study what already ranks for them, and review the content you already have.
Plan
We agree a prioritized topic list and an editorial calendar you can sustain, with a clear purpose for every piece.
Write and review
We draft from interviews and research, edit for clarity, and you approve every piece before it is published.
Publish and improve
We publish, promote and repurpose each piece, then update what performs and rework what does not.
Is it right for you?
Is content marketing a good fit for you?
Content takes patience. It pays back best when a few things are already in place.
A strong fit when…
- Customers research before they buy and have questions you can answer better than anyone.
- Someone on your team can make time for interviews and reviews, because your knowledge is the raw material.
- You are prepared to wait for results that build over months rather than weeks.
- You want material your sales team can send to prospects, not just more website traffic.
Worth waiting if…
- Your website is hard to update or does not convert visitors. Fix the site first, or new readers will have nowhere to go.
- You need sales this month. Paid search moves faster, and content can build alongside it later.
- You cannot commit to publishing regularly. A few excellent cornerstone pages may be a better start than a blog.
Frequently asked questions
How often should we publish?
As often as you can publish something genuinely useful, and no more. A schedule you can keep matters more than volume, and updating a strong existing page is often worth more than adding a weak new one. We would rather publish fewer, better pieces than fill a calendar.
Will the content sound like us?
That is the aim. We learn how you talk to customers through interviews, your existing material and any brand guidelines, then write a short style guide for your content. You review every piece, and the voice gets sharper with each round of feedback.
Can you improve the content we already have?
Yes, and it is often the best place to start. Existing pages may already have some search visibility and links pointing to them. Updating outdated facts, improving the structure and answering questions more completely can pay off sooner than starting from scratch.
What should we know before sending email newsletters?
We recommend emailing only people who have agreed to hear from you, and every commercial email in the US has to follow the CAN-SPAM Act. The FTC’s CAN-SPAM compliance guide for business explains the rules, including that each message must include your valid physical postal address and tell recipients how to opt out. It also notes that the law makes no exception for business-to-business email.
How do you measure content marketing?
Against the job each piece was given. Search-focused articles are judged on impressions, rankings and visits from search. Sales content is judged on whether your team uses it and whether it helps conversations move forward. Newsletters are judged on sign-ups, replies and clicks. Across all of it, we track the inquiries content helps to start.
